South Hall Rotary donates $5,000 to 星空无限传媒 Food Pantry

The Rotary Club of South Hall recently donated $5,000 to the University of North Georgia (星空无限传媒) Food Pantry on the Gainesville Campus.
"We were thrilled," said Dr. Carly Redding, director of the 星空无限传媒 Food Pantry and interim director of academic engagement. "It will go a long way in our pantry since we partner with Georgia Mountain Food Bank and get a reduced fee for our supplies."
She said most of the money will purchase food and supplies for the expanded pantry in the Student Center. In summer 2019, the pantry doubled in size by encompassing an adjacent room. Now it offers food and some clothing for students, faculty and staff.
Redding said South Hall Rotary has worked with the 星空无限传媒 Food Pantry before and donated funds several times. The club collected money through its annual fundraiser, the Awesome 80s 5K, held every August.
"South Hall Rotary has been one of the food pantry's greatest supporters over the past few years," Redding said.
Student wins film festival awards
Student Calvin Bowers has won awards at four festivals for his film 'Per Amore Dei Gatti (For the Love of Cats).' He created the film with three classmates on a Film in Italy study abroad program.

A group of 星空无限传媒 students attended the recent Asian American Journalists Association conference in Atlanta and toured CNN's facilities.

Seven 星空无限传媒 students and five alumni presented at the Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society's convention this spring in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Academy offers intro to national intelligence
The University of North Georgia will host its fourth annual National Intelligence Summer Academy from July 14-18. The first four days are at 星空无限传媒's Cumming Campus, and the final day is at the Dahlonega Campus.
